About Us

Archadeck has successfully built thousands of projects through out Chicagoland for the past 20 years. Archadeck “The Backyard Company” has designed and created outdoor livings spaces for the northern counties of the Chicago community since the spring of 2004. In design we focus on understanding the project. It is our goal to create outdoor living spaces that match our clients functional, aesthetic, spatial, and budgetary priorities. In construction our priority is to build a high quality project with as little disruption to our client’s home as possible. Our craftsmanship and service speak for itself.

David & Kristen Berryhill, own (and operate) Archadeck “The Backyard Company”, which is part of the nationally known network of Archadeck offices. In 2004 we earned rookie of the year honors as the best new member of the Archadeck family. Since then we have grown in many ways. We have added employee carpenters to replace most of our sub contractors, we have diversified in the projects we create, we have improved in our service to our clients, and we have expanded our geographic service to include Lake & McHenry Counties as well as portions of N.W. Cook.

Archadeck has been in business since 1980 and has built more than 60,000 projects across the country, earning the reputation as "America's Deck Builder." Archadeck has been featured in numerous magazines including HOME, Gardens, Decks & Patios, Additions & Decks and Houston House and Home. Qualified Remodeler magazine recently ranked Archadeck (6th on the 2006 National Remodeling List) in the "Top 8" remodelers in the United States.

Prior to Archadeck, homeowners had only three choices when building a deck: build their own deck; hire a carpenter, often unlicensed or uninsured; or work with an architect. With Archadeck, design and construction has been combined into a single source by offering excellent customer service, extensive design options, top quality construction and the best warranty in the industry.
